In my series "Proud Postings" I ask several other bloggers in the Project Management arena "What are the 3 postings you are most proud of?" This time three great postings from Paul Ritchie. He writes fabulous Project Management stuff on his blog Crossderry.

First about Paul and Crossderry…
"I lead global project management operations at SAP. Looking back, I guess in one way or another I’ve been involved in strategy and initiative leadership for just under twenty years. Check out my LinkedIn bio for more information.
My blog, Crossderry, is exactly what the tag line says: "A shifting expediency that defies rational analysis." I focus a lot on leadership, strategy, and communications issues; however, I also take the more-than-occasional detour into just about anything.
One caveat: I write a lot of short, punchy posts. Or at least that's my ideal. Therefore, my three "Proud Posts" reflect some key themes of the blog, but a single post is usually only a brief passage from a theme. Please follow a post's links or explore its tags and categories for more."
Proud Posts
Personality Types and Leadership — This post is one of my most personal, describing an epiphany I had about my personality. I used to strive for a strict separation among my work, leisure, community, and relationship selves. That separation no longer works for me, especially as a leader. For a long time, I tried to operate as I did when I was a worker bee. Work was something to be endured and was to be kept separate from the rest of my life and personality. Per the post, what I was really doing was shutting myself off from myself. This insight has radically changed my leadership priorities over time.
Complexity Set — The entry is a bit of a cheat, because it's a page that collects a number of posts on the challenges of complex initiatives. I was recently interviewed by the Wall Street Journal on complexity; the interview focused on how SAP has leveraged insights from The Experience Trap article featured on the Complexity Set page. While I don't know if my contribution will end up in the piece itself, the WSJ's interest signals that this topic is an emerging challenge for firms of all shapes and sizes.
Updated ASAP for Implementation Roadmap — Finally, SAP customers, partners, and other interested parties often miss valuable content that we publish regularly. The ability to navigate SAP content sources — especially our Service Marketplace — is an essential skill for anyone in our ecosystem. Here I highlight the updates my team made to the implementation methodology that supports SAP Business Suite initiatives.
