Everything I know about Leadership I learned from my dad

"The longer I'm in management, the more I realize that the most effective teams, long-term, are much more like families than coworkers. You, as leader, are usually the parent. There may be
leaders among your people, but you are the source of authority. The rhetoric is different. "I'll tell dad!" becomes "I'm going to escalate this to the director". The same principles and dynamics
apply in so many ways though. Treat your team as you would your family, and you'll be pleased with the results."

Ten Simple Things That Can Trip Up Your Project Plan

"I'm fond of this one just because it's served as such a useful checklist for myself, people I work with, and people I know so much headache so many times. I've also gotten a lot of good feedback on it, so I think it's helped a lot of others as well. I like to think that all my posts help people, but this one I think has been one of the most immediately useful."

Stick to Your Guns

"I think this one delivers a great message and a valuable one. One of the biggest problems in business today is a fear of taking responsibility and action among leaders. This one is all about how important it is to take action and own your decisions. Truly though, I love it most just because I think it sums me up the best, and because of the great feedback it's gotten. The feedback just helps me believe more in my message too- people love and respect people who are willing to make a stand."
